And what's wrong with randy nose art? Some one showed me a picture of the nose art on a "milk Truck" (the plane the U.S. Navy uses to deliver mail to the fleets) that featured a blonde suffer boy. The CAG had asked if the pilot was gay, and was told that the picture was of the (female) pilots husband. Go fig.
Excellent. When I was in the Army, we convinced the CO to let us paint nose art on our helicopters (CH-47C Chinooks); they even made a contest of it. Since I was known to be fairly skilled with a pencil and paints, just about every crew wound up asking me to help them out.
I wound up doing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place art, and getting $50 and half a case of beer for my troubles, along with a letter of appreciation from the CO. Sadly, I don't have any photos of the art, though.
When I wound up on flight status as a crew chief, my helo was named "Master Pig". She flew like a pig, too. But the "Pig with the Top Hat" was pretty well known, and came through time and again.
Thanks for bringing back the memories; I love nose art... and this is an excellent piece.
